Description
Gives access to a secondary drop table while gathering with rewards and chances heavily scaling on enchantment strength. The best finds are only found in the hardest to reach zones!

Archaeology is an enchantment that grants the player a chance to access a secondary drop table while gathering with rewards and chances heavily scaling on enchantment strength.

Uses

This enchantment works even when it is not on the piece of equipment that relates to the current gathering action. For example, with Archaeology enchanted on an equipped Tacklebox, Archaeology rewards may still be received while Mining or Foraging.

The strength of the enchantment can be increased with the Greater Archaeology affix.

Scroll

The Scroll of Archaeology has a vendor value of 2000 gold and is tradeable at the Marketplace. This scroll can be enchanted on pickaxes, tackleboxes, hatchets and their related skilling sets. It is created through Scrollcrafting:

• Earn 2 Scrolls of Archaeology by completing the Runes of the Lava Maze quest.

Potion

Although potions of Archaeology can not be brewed, individual stacks of Archaeology 2 ((3 stacks per 1 Event Token)) can be purchased at the Event Shop. These stacks are consumed immediately, they can not be stored in inventory.

Equipment

• Archaeology 1 comes pre-enchanted on Prototype Miner's Trousers.

• Archaeology 3 comes pre-enchanted on Miner's Trousers.

Archaeology Table

The chance for archaeology to activate is the base duration of the location that you are gathering in in milliseconds divided by 3,000,000. Therefore every location will see the same amount of activations per time spent. When it activates it will roll up to $\left\lfloor {\frac {strength}{2}}\right\rfloor$ items from the archaeology table. In theory each gathering skill has its own archaeology table, but they are identical at the moment. Items roll in ascending order of their chance.

A temporary Archaeology buff can be purchased from the Shrine of Toucan with gold when it becomes available at the Altar.
