Runecrafting

In this skill you create Runes from Rune slabs (from Mining) and Essences. These Runes are required for Enchanting.

To start you'll need to gather essence. Essence can be gathered by doing various activities. If you have an talisman for the essence you're gathering you will gather it 5x faster.

You can find talismans in the rare drops from Gathering skills; Geodes, Birds nests and Sunken Treasures are obtained through Mining, Woodcutting and Fishing respectively.

Every 20 levels you craft one more rune each time you craft one, so at level 20 you'd craft 2 runes and at level 40 you craft 3. Each rune gives the same experience (25 xp) in runecrafting per craft.

Rune	Where Essence is Obtained
Air	Air essences are gathered automatically.
Earth	Earth essences are gathered when mining.
Fire	Fire essences are gathered when smithing or cooking.
Water	Water essences are gathered by fishing.
Blood	Blood essences are gathered by dealing damage (combat).
Death	Death essences are gathered by killing opponents (combat).
Chaos	Chaos essences are gathered by attempting to hit an enemy (combat).
Nature	Nature essences are gathered by foraging and farming.
Mind	Mind essences are gathered by casting spells (scroll crafting) and augmenting items.
Cosmic	Cosmic essences are gathered by enchanting or runecrafting.
