Core fragments are a rare drop from high tier refining in forge 3
Obtaining
Core fragments can only be obtained by using the refining enchantment and smithing in forge 3. You can increase the chance by either; increasing the intinsity you are smithing at and using the metalurgy enchant, smithing a higher tier ore such as stygian or chaotic crystals, and having a higher refining level by either using more scrolls on higher tier boots/gloves, talents, or global buffs/buff stacks.
