The Miner Set is used primarily for mining. To unlock access to the set you need to complete the quest Mining Equipment. It requires Mining level 50 in order to accept the quest. This quest is also required in order to unlock the legendary quest for the Legendary Pickaxe also known as The Dwarven Rocksmasher . To complete the Mining Equipment quest you must mine 10,000 times. You can mine in any of these zones: The Deep Pit, Slate Spires, The Volcano Mine, The Hidden Mine, The Underground Mine, The Desert Mine, The Village Quarry, City Outskirts Mine, and The Clay Pit. Once you have completed this quest, you will be rewarded with 1 quest point, 100,000 mining experience, 1,000 mining shards and the complete Mining set, which consists of a prototype of each set piece. There's the Prototype Miner's Lantern Helmet, the Prototype Miner's Smock and the Prototype Miner's Trousers.

Each piece already has 1 enchantment on them. All three of the pieces have three enchantment slots.

The Prototype Miner's Lantern Helmet: Dwarven Engineering 1/3 which gives a 0.2% chance to massively boost amount gathered while mining

The Prototype Miner's Smock: Empowered Prospecting 1/3 which increases your chance to find gems or silver while mining by 50%. Rolls before Prospecting and does not stack with it; does not require a earth rune.

The Prototype Miner's Trousers: Archaeology 1/3 which gives access to a secondary drop table while gathering with rewards and chances heavily scaling on enchantment strength. The best finds are found in the hardest to reach zones.

Then there's the legitimate Miner's Set which needs foraging shards to craft. These set pieces come fully enchanted

The Miner's Lantern Helmet: Dwarven Engineering 3/3 which gives a 0.6% chance to massively boost amount gathered while mining

The Miner's Smock: Empowered Prospecting 3/3 which increases your chance to find gems or silver while mining by 150%. Rolls before Prospecting and does not stack with it; does not require a earth rune.

The Miner's Trousers: Archaeology 3/3 which gives access to a secondary drop table while gathering with rewards and chances heavily scaling on enchantment strength. The best finds are found in the hardest to reach zones.

The Miner Set also has additional bonuses depending on the amount of equipment that you have on related to Mining.

With the basic three piece Miner Set you will get the buff called Master Miner. This bonus grants a passive buff which increases equipment based mining stats by 20%. Reduces damage taken and increases damage done by 25% in dangerous gathering encounters.

If you have completed the Legendary Pickaxe quest you will have the fourth piece to the Miner set which is the pickaxe called The Dwarven Rocksmasher.

With all four pieces of the set equipped at once, you will get the buff called Legendary Rocksmasher. This overrides the Master Miner buff. This bonus grants a passive buff which increases equipment based mining stats by 40%. Reduces damage taken and increases damage done by 50% in dangerous gathering encounters.
