General introduction
Idlescape seasons are events where you can play a special character with special rules specific to that season.
Examples of special buffs are increased XP, extra buffs, or the introduction of new mechanics.
Seasons characters do not add to the active or maximum amount of characters, and can be converted to event tokens after the season ends. When the season ends, the characters are no longer playable and any progress is reset for the next season.
Idlescape seasons are limited-time events where players can dive into the game with a unique seasonal character designed to follow special rules tailored to that season. Each season introduces its own set of special buffs, mechanics, and features, such as increased experience points, powerful extra boosts, or entirely new gameplay mechanics.
Seasonal characters do not count toward a player’s active or maximum character limit, allowing anyone to participate without restrictions. When the season concludes, these characters become unplayable, and their progress resets in preparation for the next season. However, players can convert their seasonal characters into event tokens, ensuring their efforts yield rewards even after the event ends.

Season 3: Magic Catastrophe Rerun
Season 3 brought was a rerun of the buff maddness season, this time updated to beta version 0.22.0.
The rerun was exclusive to Ironman players and featured the updated XP scaling formula from the Pre-Season, which continued alongside this season. Again, the season was focused on buffs from shrines, with random buffs available by completing shrine goals. Additional buffs were earned by achieving milestones, such as completing Master level quests or reaching max levels in skills.
The season was designed to snowball quickly, often leading to buffs "reaching absurd levels".
Wiki Madness
The Wiki Madness event returned during the Magic Catastrophe Rerun, allowing players to earn buffs by contributing to the wiki.
Season 2: Magic Catastrophe
Season 2 introduced Instant Shrines: These provided random buffs whenever the community reached shrine goals, separate from the traditional shrine system. Players had to maintain or upgrade shrine buffs, as they downgraded every 24 hours. This was done by achieving level milestones, donating to shrines, or editing the wiki.
Additional buffs unlocked as players hit milestones like reaching level 99 or every 10th mastery level. This created a rapid feedback loop of buffs and milestones.
Wiki Madness
As part of this season, players could contribute to the wiki for rewards: Registered accounts with 500+ character edits earned buffs, with longer edits granting extended durations. Top contributors earned special medals or icons, which will carry over into future versions of the game.
Season 1: Affixes Season (non-official name)
This season featured two modes: a standard marketplace-enabled mode and an ironman mode. This season introduced the much-anticipated Affixes system. Season 1 introduced roughly 80 affixes, ranging from basic stat boosts to legendary effects like passive life steal or damage reflect.
The affixes featured in this seasons were far stronger and more effective than affixes introduced later in the main game.
Season 0: Pre-Season
The Pre-Season introduced seasons system to Idlescape. This short season was intended to run for approximately three weeks, offering quick progression.
Players started with unique buffs (strength 20 Haste, strength 20 Intuition, strength 11 Treasure Hunter, and strength 5 Enlightenment), as well as basic bronze tools and some gold and heat.
At the end of the season, medal have been awarded to the top 3 players in normal and mastery total levels. Event tokens were distributed to all participants,
