Ammunition, also known as ammo, is the material fired, scattered, dropped, or detonated from any weapon or weapon system. Currently Idlescape only offers projectile ammunition such as arrows and bullets.

Acquisition

Most ammunition is craftable, but some are only obtained in combat or found in chests such as Greater Bird Greater Bird's Nest. Ammunition is tradeable at the Marketplace.

Ammo Pouch Uses

  • Ammunition is placed inside an ammo pouch such as a quiver, storage pendant, or rune bag to be used in future combat situations. Order and supply is important as ammunition can not be added to the pouch nor reorganized during battle.
  • Not all ranged weapons require ammunition, consult the weapon's details to ensure that a proper weapon type and corresponding ability is chosen in the Ability Rotation.
  • Ammunition is expended during combat action turns, packing extra ammunition is recommended as the ammo pouches hold infinite amounts of ammunition, whetstones, runes, and charms. Be aware that the Ammo Pouch contents are shared between the main character and their mercenaries, so adjust quantities accordingly.
  • Certain enchantments when activated through gathering or production actions may pull runes from the Ammo Pouch if the main inventory is empty of the specified rune type. Restock the pouch as needed prior to battle, particularly if the weapon, equipment, or ability chosen in rotation requires additional runes.

Enchantments

Although the ammunition itself can not be enchanted, most ammo pouches come pre-enchanted with Enchantments such as Endless Ammo or Rune Reserves to help preserve ammo or Runes respectively. These enchantments can be imparted upon Capes. Affix Wardings with regards to ranged damage and accuracies may also be useful.
