Runecrafting UI

The Runecrafting skill is a combination of runecrafting and weaving. Runecrafting lets players use essence to create runes that have many uses throughout the game. Weaving lets players weave cloth that is used to craft the moajority of magic equipment and enhance unique items.

Runecrafting

Runecrafting allows players to create runes from rune slates (acquired through mining) and essences. These runes are required for Scrollcrafting, using magic abilities, consumed by some Enchantments and for Crafting certain items.

Every 20 levels will increase the number of runes crafted in an action by 1. Intermediary levels will get a chance to craft an additional rune depending on how close it is to the next 20 level breakpoint.

To start runecrafting, players must first gather essence by doing various activities. A Rune Slate is used per rune made while 400 essence is used for each runecrafting action. Used Essence can be reduced with the runecrafting enchantment but a minimum of 400 is required to start crafting.

Element Rune Essence How to Obtain
Air Air essence is gathered automatically. Essence gain is doubled when idling.
Earth Earth essence is gathered while mining.
Fire Fire essence is gathered while smithing or cooking.
Water Water essence is gathered while fishing.
Blood Blood essence is gathered by dealing damage to enemies during combat.
Death Death essence is gathered by killing monsters in combat.
Chaos Chaos essence is gathered by attempting to hit monsters during combat (on every swing of a weapon).
Nature Nature essence is gathered while foraging or farming.
Mind Mind essence is gathered while enchanting or augmenting.
Cosmic Cosmic essences is gathered while enchanting or runecrafting.

Talisman

Talismans are objects that can be found from many different places throughout the game. Each talisman of the same type consumed after the first will grant 35,000 - 50,000 essence to that type.

Scroll of Prolonging Scroll of Prolonging Gloves, Boots 58 700 60 Nature, Mind Gain a 20% chance to not consume a buff stack (resulting in 25% more uses from a buff on average).
Scroll of Enlightenment Scroll of Enlightenment Gloves, Boots 73 900 70 Air, Water, Chaos, Mind Gain 1 more essence per action where essence is acquired.
Scroll of Wealth Scroll of Wealth Ring, Necklace 37 500 50 Nature, Mind, Cosmic Automatically sells gathering and production items for 20% of their vendor price. Does not affect Crafting or stack with Scholar.
Scroll of the Scholar Scroll of the Scholar Ring, Necklace 88 1300 110 Chaos, Mind, Cosmic Increases experience gained from gathering and production by 20% but destroys the item in process. Does not affect Crafting or stack with Wealth. Only active for mastery experience, when a skill is at level 99.
Scroll of Haste Scroll of Haste Ring, Necklace 94 2000 200 Air, Chaos, Mind, Cosmic Increases non-combat action speed by 4%. Caps at halving action time. Stacks with Empowered Haste.
Scroll of Engraving Scroll of Engraving Chisel 39 500 50 Nature, Mind, Cosmic Gives a 2% chance to not consume rune slates while Runecrafting.
