Core fragments are a rare drop from high level
Smithing in forge 3.
Obtaining
Core fragments can only be obtained by using the Refining enchantment. You can increase your chances by:
- Increasing the intensity you are smithing at and using the Metallurgy enchantment,
- Smithing higher tier bars such as Stygian Bars or Chaotic Crystals,
- Increasing your refining level by
Enchanting your boots or gloves with the Refining enchantment (the same enchantment put on different pieces of gear do not stack), - Picking smithing talents,
- Making use of global buffs or buff stacks.
