Infernal dust is a byproduct of Researching obsidian and gargoyle gear and Smithing with Refining in forge 1. It is used to craft Gargoyle Gear and the legendary Infernal Lance.

Obtaining
Infernal Dust is obtained in two ways
Researching
By researching any Obsidian gear, gargoyle gear, or the Infernal Lance itself you get a 100% chance per successful action to get 1 infernal dust. This chance is the same for every single item so obsidian gear is the most cost effective way to get Infernal Dust.
Refining
The second way to obtain Infernal Dust is by using the Refining enchantment in the City Forge (Forge 1). The chance for dust increases with higher heat, tier of the bar, and refining level you are smithing at.
