A monster is the official term for an attackable NPC. They can range from a weak, low-level rat to the extremely strong ice giant. Monsters are often fought by players for experience and loot.
Eating food in combat from the combat inventory provides healing and buffs. To put food in the combat inventory, click the item in your regular inventory and click "Add to Combat Inventory". Equipment can also be equipped in the same way, with the "Equip" button.
Damage and defense against monsters are determined by a player's combat levels and equipment.
