Smithing Set
The Smithing Set consists of the following pieces: the Chaos Crest, the Smith's Golem Torso, the Smith's Golem Legs and the Dwarven Tongs.
- Wearing the first three pieces of the set activates the Master Smith buff which increases equipment based smithing stats by 20%. This set also reduces damage received and increases damage dealt by 25% in dangerous gathering encounters.
- Equiping the entire Smithing Set overrides the Master Smith bonus with the Legendary Smith buff. This bonus increases equipment based smithing stats by 40%, reduces damage received and increases damage dealt by 50% in dangerous gathering encounters.
Acquisition
Level 50 crafting is required to craft the Smith's Golem Torso and Smith's Golem Legs armor.
The Chaos Crest can be obtained as a reward from the Palace of Flame or as a drop from elite demons inhabiting the Lava Maze, the Fallen Wizard Tower, the Dwarven Research Station and The Pit. Alternatively, this crest requires level 20 in Defense and is the result of successfully transforming the Obsidian Helm during Item Research.
The Dwarven Tongs require level 90 in crafting. However a player must possess a smithing level of 80 to equip this tool. Additionally the recipe for the tongs must be unlocked by completing the Legendary Tongs quest. A pair of Dwarven Tongs is also one of the quest's rewards.
Enchanting
By default the Smith's Golem Legs are enchanted with Forge Maintenance 3 which decreases negative forge effects by 3% and caps off at 30%.
Conversely the Smith's Golem Torso possesses the Forge Enhancement 3 enchantment which increases positive forge effects by 3% and caps off at 30%.
The Chaos Crest empowers the player with Krakatoa, a fire attack that is 25% slower, 25% more accurate, and does double the damage.
The Dwarven Tongs lack a specific enchantment other than the Master or Legendary Smith bonuses, however they have 8 slots available.
While the Smithing Set can be disenchanted and re-enchanted, doing so may affect the set's bonuses.
