Protection reduces incoming damage by 4%.

Uses

Protection is weaker than Reinforcement in reducing damage but can be used in combination to further reduce damage.

Protection is also used to reduce the maximum damage from hard hitting monsters. Even when the maximum damage is not reduced due rounding up, i.e. low protection or low maximum damage, protection will reduce the occurrence of higher damage hits.

Different equipment with the same enchantment do not stack and only the higher applies.

Trivia
