Scrollcrafting Guide
Scrollcrafting is a skill that helps you create a scroll, that you later may use on your tools to help you boost your task.
There are many kinds of scrolls, and each have their own separate uses, and separate requirements to how they're made and used.
Each enchantment scroll needs a Scroll, Silver, and its own set of different runes.
Available Scrolls
The given scroll description is their effects at strength 1.
in-game , if you click on a gear icon on the enchanting tab, it'll filter the scrolls based on the item that you clicked on. if you clicked on a pickaxe, you'll see a list of only-pickaxe allowed scrolls, and so on.
Uses
There are a few reasons why one would want to make scrolls:
- To use it on their own equipment, mainly for their own uses.
- To level up enchanting by making scrolls, and enchanting it on their equipment
- To sell it to other people for a profit, since there are cases where people tend to buy the scrolls rather than make their own
- To sell it to other people to help, this is in the case that most newbies cannot make some scrolls, like the haste scroll which needs one to be level 94 in enchanting, and is very hard to reach in a beginner phase.
There are some enchantments and affixes that affect the process of scrollcrafting.
- Efficiency (Enchantment) : This enchantment is used on either gloves or boots, and can be used to get a x% chance to get double the product. For scrollcrafting, one has a chance to get double scrolls at a single action. This is helpful when you want more scrolls for a limited resource, since it'll save you one scroll worth of resources when it procs
- Production Doubling (Affix): This is a affix that works similarly as efficiency. In scrollcrafting, this affix gives a chance to double the scroll made. This affix doesn't stack with efficiency and rolls separately. So you have a chance to roll efficiency and doubling at the same time, increasing your scrollcrafting output from 1 to 4 with just the resource of 1 scroll. Though i'll remind that this is a very low chance, so don't rely on both of them to roll together too often.
- Production Preservation (Affix): This is a affix that preserves your item when you make a scroll. For example, when making the Scroll of Haste, you have a chance to preserve either the scroll used on it, or the silver used on it, or any one of the rune types used on it. This preservation affects one resource per action, like 2000 silver ( which is used per action for a haste scroll) , or 200 runes of either type.
- Scrollcrafting mat preserve (Affix): This is a affix similar to production preservation, but this one is exclusive to scrollcrafting, and doesn't stack with production preservation, meaning you can have two instance of resource saving at the same time, if you have both of these affixes with you.
- Haste (Enchantment) : This enchantment is used on either necklace or ring, and is used to increase your non-combat speed. In this case, its supposed to decrease the time taken to make a scroll for you. This is very useful because at later levels, you can make scrolls faster and wont need to bother waiting for a while ( even if thats just in like 1 or 2 seconds).
Popular scrolls to use on certain skills
For Skilling:
Skilling consists of these skills: mining, foraging, fishing, smithing, cooking, runecrafting and enchanting, and the scrolls that can be used in all of these skills are:
- Scroll of Haste: This enchantment is the most used for skilling as it increases your speed to do things by a certain percentage. So if haste is at strength 1, then the time taken per action is reduced by 4%.This enchantment stacks with empowered haste.
- Scroll of the Scholar: This enchantment is most used for skills that give you shards. At strength 1, it converts a gathered or produced item into its respective shard once every 37.5 minutes in average. so if you are smithing bronze bars, it'll consume a bar once every 37.5 minutes in average and give you a smithing shard in return. This enchantment doesnt work with enchanting, crafting and combat since they dont have skilling shards.
- Scroll of prolonging: This enchantment helps you preserve your buffs for more action count. Say you drink 100 intuition potions, and you get 100 action worth of the buff, and you have prolonging used. At its strength 1, it gives a 20% chance to not consume the buff while doing the action but still have the effects in it. so you can use this buff for 125 actions in average instead of 100.
For Gathering
Gathering includes three skills: mining, foraging and fishing, and these are some scrolls that can be used in all three of these skills:
- Scroll of Gathering: This enchantment gives you a certain chance to drop extra items you just gathered. May be an extra ore, or a extra seed or log, or a extra fish.
- Scroll of the Naturalist: This enchantment lets you gain more chests while gathering, and gives you another chance to convert a chest you obtained into its greater form, like a geode to greater geode, or bird's nest to greater bird's nest, or sunken treasure to ancient treasure.
- Scroll of Archaeology: This enchantment lets you get a second drop table, but for junks only. While gathering, for example, while mining, you can basically put this enchantment on your tacklebox or your hatchet and it'll still work while mining, or on your pickaxe while youre foraging or fishing, and vice versa.
For Mining only
These are scrolls that work for mining only. So having this on your mining set / equipment would be better because it wont work while youre doing something else other than mining.
- Scroll of the prospector: This increases your chance to find gems and silver while mining. Helps if youre mining for silver or even if youre not, you get a free loot roll for these things.
- Scroll of Dwarven Engineering: This is another very helpful enchantment, that boosts your drops and potentially gives you more items than you were supposed to initially.
For Foraging only
These are scrolls that work for foraging only. So having this on your foraging set / equipment would be better because it wont work while youre doing something else other than foraging.
- Scroll of Nature : This enchantment gives you higher chance to get more tree related nodes while youre foraging. This enchantment gives you access to tree only nodes, so you have better chance to get logs to farm.
- Scroll of Seed Harvesting :This enchantment gives you higher chance to get more seed related nodes while youre foraging. This enchantment gives you access to seed only nodes, so you have better chance to get seeds to farm.
- Scroll of Hunter gatherer: This enchantment gives you higher chance to get more hunter related nodes while youre foraging. This enchantment gives you access to hunter only nodes, so you have better chance to get scales, furs, hides to farm.
- Scroll of Embers: This enchantment gives you a chance to get the heat equivalent to the log you forage. For example, when you get 1 yew log from a foraging action, and you proc this enchant, then you get 1 yew log and 200 heat without losing the log.
For Fishing only
These are scrolls that work for fishing only. So having this on your fishing set / equipment would be better because it wont work while youre doing something else other than fishing.
- Scroll of Fiber Finder: This enchantment helps you get better chance on getting a fiber while fishing. You can use the fibers to craft cloth, that you can further craft into other things.. and so on.
- Scroll of Pungent bait: This enchantment gives you more bait power. More bait power means you have a higher chance and speed of finding nodes. More speed means more resources
- Scroll of Reinforced line: This enchantment gives you more reel power. More reel power means you have a higher chance and speed of gathering resources. More speed means more nodes cleared quickly
For Production
Production includes these four skills: farming, smithing, cooking and crafting, and these are some scrolls that can be used in these skills: ( Note: crafting doesnt have any scroll enchantment that helps it)
- Scroll of Efficiency: This enchantment helps you get double product while smithing, cooking, scrollcrafting and cloth weaving. For example, if youre smithing stygian bars, and you proc this, you'll get two stygian bars instead of one.
- Scroll of Pyromancy: This enchantment helps you use less heat while cooking and smithing. This helps when youre trying to save some heat while cooking some food or smithing some bars.
- Scroll of Inferno: This enchantment helps you proc multiple actions in a single action. If you proc this enchant while smithing a bronze bar, it'll instead do the thing as multiple actions , max upto 5 actions, instead of a single action
For Smithing only
These are scrolls that work for smithing only. So having this on your smithing set / equipment would be better because it wont work while youre doing something else other than smithing.
- Scroll of Refining: This enchantment helps you get gems and some rare items while smithing. items like obsidian glass or molten ashes or core fragment can be obtained while smithing if refining is used.
- Scroll of Metallurgy: This enchantment helps you increase the forge's max heat by a set amount. This helps mostly in the volcanic forge because in the volcanic forge, heat increase makes the ore be used less for more bars. so you can get more bars for less heat, but by spending more heat.
For Cooking only
These are scrolls that work for cooking only. So having this on your cooking set / equipment would be better because it wont work while youre doing something else other than cooking.
- Scroll of Blitzing: This enchantment helps you prepare your ingredients faster. Something like inferno but for Preparation.
- Scroll of the Master Chef: This enchantment helps you to not burn food while cooking based on your cooking effective level. so the higher your cooking effective level is, the higher chance you get to successfully cook a food.
For Farming only
These are scrolls that work for farming only. Farming is a passive skill, so you can have these enchants on your hoe, and it'll still work even when you're doing something else.
- Scroll of Cultivation: This enchantment helps you get your seed back while harvesting. For example, you plant a mysterious seed, and you proc this enchantment during harvest, then you get the seed back plus the drops the seed that was harvested gave.
- Scroll of Overgrowth: This enchantment helps you get double yield while harvesting, but consumes 5x the amount of seed during the process. Say you harvested a mysterious seed, and this procs, now you get double drops, but you end up consuming 5 seeds in the process. This enchantment is useful for people that are stacking up on seeds that might take them forever to plant all of them.
For Magic
Magic ( not to be mistaken by the combat skill ) consists of two skills: runecrafting and enchanting. These are some scrolls that can be used in both of them:
- Scroll of Efficiency: As mentioned earlier, it gives you a chance to double the product. so if you were crafting a scroll and you proc this, you get two scrolls at the cost and time of one scroll, or if you weave a cloth and you proc this, you get two clothes at the cost and time of one cloth.
For Runecrafting only
- Scroll of Engraving: This enchantment gives you a chance to not consume rune slates while runecrafting. Pretty handy when you want more runes made from the essence you have for less slates used.
- Scroll of runecrafting: This enchantment helps you reduce essence while runecrafting. Useful when you want more runes made for less essence than you were supposed to use.
- Scroll of Fibrous Fabrication: This enchantment gives you a chance to not consume fibers while weaving clothes. Helpful when you want more clothes for less fibers used.
For Enchanting only
- Scroll of Chances: This enchantment multiplies the chance to transform an item by 1%. If an item has a 10% chance to transform and you have a 10% bonus transform chance, it becomes a 11% chance to transform.
- Scroll of Duster: This enchantment increases the average number of research attempts before an item is destroyed by 3 for each strength. so you can have more chance to research the item and get the dust you want , or maybe get more chance to transform the item before it breaks.
- Scroll of Quick Study: This enchantment gives a chance per enchanting action to complete another enchanting action. Its similar to inferno , but this one's for enchanting. Helps you do consecutive actions on a single action for scrollcrafting, Augmenting and researching.
