Runic Dust
Runic Dust is a material used in Crafting and Runecrafting, in particular Affix Warding.
Acquisition
Runic Dust can be bought in the Marketplace, found inside Dungeon Caches, obtained by Researching items, acquired through Crafting or Combat.

Research
Researching items will typically produce runic dust until the research fails, a gear scrap is produced and the item is consumed.
Basic Runic Dust can be obtained from researching items with Common rarity.
Unusual Runic Dust can be obtained from researching items with Uncommon rarity.
Singular Runic Dust can be obtained from researching items with Rare rarity.
Prime Runic Dustcan be obtained from researching items with Epic rarity.
Mythical Runic Dust can be obtained from researching items with Legendary rarity.

Uses
Runic Dust can be used to craft other types of runic dust as seen in the crafting recipe table listed above. However the main purpose of runic dust is to apply powerful Affixes to equipment (possessing affix slots) corresponding to their rarity.
Basic Runic Dust can only apply affixes to Common items.
Unusual Runic Dust can only apply affixes to Uncommon items.
Singular Runic Dust can only apply affixes to Rare items.
Prime Runic Dust can only apply affixes to Epic items.
Mythical Runic Dust can only apply affixes to Legendary items.
Conversely Runic Dust is used to clear or reroll affixes on equipment with existing affix enchantments.

Common Gear Scraps to remove or reroll affixes from Common items.
Unusual Runic Dust is used with
Uncommon Gear Scraps to remove or reroll affixes from Uncommon items.
Singular Runic Dust is used with
Rare Gear Scraps to remove or reroll affixes from Rare items.
Prime Runic Dust is used with
Epic Gear Scraps to remove or reroll affixes from Epic items.
Mythical Runic Dust is used with
Legendary Gear Scraps to remove or reroll affixes from Legendary items.
